小国寡民，使有什佰之器而不用，使民重死而不远徙。
《老子》第80章
Given a small country with few inhabitants ，though there are various kinds of instruments，let them not be used. Let the people not risk their lives ，and not move to distant places.

小国寡民:小、寡都用如动词，使国小、使民少。什佰之器:各种器具。什佰， 即十百，泛指众多。重死:把死亡看得很重，重视生命。徙(xi): 搬迁。小国寡民是老子的理想社会，这个社会的特点是:国家小，人民少。

国家小，百姓少，即使有许多器具也不使用，使老百姓看重生命而不轻易向远方迁移。
